Faculty of caffeine is a nice cozy little cafe located right opposite city square mall. It’s black and white exterior is easy to spot among the other small shophouses located around it.
The interior of the cafe is pretty dim-lited, with a cozy vibe. I noticed a few students studying alone with a drink and enjoying the relaxing music. We stayed here for quite a bit as well, really enjoying the privacy we were getting.
As for the food, I ordered a Hazelnut latte, which was decently nice. Though there is a pretty limited selection on the menu, the Korean fried chicken on pancakes (19.90 RM) was very yummy and I enjoyed it a lot. It came served as hot fried chicken covered in the typical Korean sauce, topped off with a pineapple on top of a stack of fluffy pancakes.
I ordered the F.O.C aglio olio (18.90 RM) as well which was basically smoked duck pasta with almonds topped off with a sous vide egg which my friends and I quickly gobbled down. The flavour combination wasn’t something I’m familiar with, and I’m not that big a fan of pasta, but I really enjoyed this!
The Chicken Tonkatsu ramen (22.90 RM, not photographed) and the fried chicken maze ramen (19.90 RM, not photographed) were both nice, though not as satisfying as the aglio oiio and Korean fried chicken on pancakes.
For dessert, we went for the Tiramisu pancake stack, decorated with banana, mini chocolate brownies, a generous serving of creamy vanilla icecream and a mini bottle of melted chocolate sauce. It was indeed a good way to end the meal, though I must say I still prefer normal tiramisu.
Do check this cafe out when in you’re JB and let me know what you think! What other cafes should I check out when I’m there next?
