Acai bowl recipe

DSC07601DSC07604DSC07608DSC07612DSC07615DSC07617DSC07623There has been alot of hype recently, about acai and other health foods in Singapore. It seems as though a health craze has hit us by storm and the latest trend is to eat healthy. I’m definitely not complaining as it simply means more exciting food for me to try! But with the prices places are charging for a bowl of acai (up to $14), I’m just not willing to make it part of my lifestyle. So I began a hunt for the best way and recipe, of making my own acai for much less. After trying for over a year, I think I’ve finally found the perfect one.

You will need:

  1. 1 Large banana/2 Small bananas, frozen
  2. 1 Cup frozen mixed berries
  3. 1 Tbsp acai powder
  4. 1/2 Tbsp Maca powder
  5. 1 Tbsp cacao powder
  6. 1/4 Cup coconut water
  7. 1/4 Cup oat milk
  8. Fruits and granola of choice for toppings

Tip: An acai bowl is different from a smoothie in the sense that it has a much thicker and icier consistency. This can only be achieved with a high powered blender that is strong enough to blend the frozen fruits!

Steps:

  1. Blend all the ingredients together
  2. Decorate!

It really couldn’t be any simpler.

Let me know if you gave this a try and whether you love it like I do!

xx,
